back in the day.....

Back in 1997, when we bought our first computer, the first software I bought for myself was Family Tree Maker. I had inherited my grandfathers interest in genealogy, and wanted to build on the huge family tree that he had hired someone to build for him. I loved it, and was able to take the Hyde branch of our tree back to 1090 in England. And then I got sidetracked, with kids, dogs, relocating, hubbie's hobbies, trips to New York, photography....too many things to count. Well, in the last week or so, I decided that I would like to get back into it. So, I am canceling the correspondence photography classes I've been trying to take. I joined a genealogy website (Ancestry.com), and have been making progress. I'm concentrating on my family, which is why this blog is called Hyde/Crawford, and not Cassaday/Hyde. Eventually I may get to my in-law trees, but I have a HUGE task ahead of me with my own family. Wish me luck!
