I received the death certificate I ordered in the mail today. It is for Earl Hyde, my great-grandfather. And it is him - I was not 100% sure, but the gamble of paying $7 for the copy paid off. I was able to get some more information off of the certificate. Like...
Earl Hyde born July 14, 1863, Oswego, NY
died November 6, 1919, Marietta, OH
father Samuel Hyde born in Groton, NY, and mother Irene or Irena Canfunter or Ganfunter (the handwriting is hard to read) - she was born in Groton,NY also, which is where my grandfather Earl Forsythe Hyde was born.
The death certificate was signed by Frank Hyde, my great uncle.
The "Place of Burial or Removal" is listed as Oak Grove Vault. He is buried in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Marietta, OH, along with his wife Nellie Louise.
He died of some kind of heart disease...again, it's hard to read. The words I can read are "disease of heart", "schlerosis", and "heart block".
He was buried on November 8, 1919.
So, it's been a productive day. I've also been working on taking the Hyde branch back as far as I can in the United States, whic is sometime in the mid-1600's. I'm just about there. Once I have it done, I'll post it here.
If anyone has any information that may help me in my search, please leave a comment!

dottie, I wont bother you with a lot of names unless you want them- but have you run into a branch of the Hydes in extreme northern Ohio?? They would have been there early in the 1800's- at least I am pretty sure...
Is the william that came over with Hooker in the 1630' the progentor of our family in america.. thankyou- hattie
Hattie - William was the first Hyde from my branch that I found records of in the colonies. I believe that the Hydes in the US probably came from him and his sons, but I can't say that definitely. My family definitely came from them though!
My grandfather lived in Marietta Ohio growing up. However I think that is in south east Ohio. Do you know where they came from before Ohio? My Hyde's settled in Connecticut, then moved down to central New York. My grandfather moved to Ohio, then settled in eastern Pennsylvania, where we've been since.
